Where toxic cargoes are carried, SOLAS requires that the ship should carry a minimum of three (3) additional complete sets of safety equipment, over and above the SOLAS 74 requirements.
Safety equipment set shall comprise:
A self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
Protective clothing (as described above).
Steel core rescue line and harness.
Explosive-proof safety lamp.
